An early morning recon trip to Wanahoo. Long line trolled over 14’ with 2 sizes of SR’s with no luck, saw abundance of bait fish( fingerling bluegill, crappie and bass) within the water column. Looking for crappie, bass and wally beneath, results nothing hitting my presentations. Moved to vegetation edges and a few nice bluegill were caught. Moved to the trees and picked up mostly smaller size bluegill in 6-10’ depths, fished an underwater shoal and picked up numerous bluegill 7-9” and a fun 16” bass. Overall, a slow morning of catching fish at Wanahoo while hitting traditional spots and new ones! Abundant of prey scattered everywhere was easy for predator pickings! Could be a late evening pattern and bite? Always fun to fish and explore the variety of aquatic habitats that L. Wanahoo has to offer!
Nice post-spawn 16” Largemouth Bass caught on a large leech off a shoal!
