The purpose for going to Branched Oak was to look for shad and active crappie beneath. I found both but no action on live minnows and jig raps! Good news the boat still runs good at trolling speeds! Three and a half hours of slow fishing here was enough for me and the crazy’s with the noisy power boats and jet ski’s nuts are starting to overload the boat ramp, time to take my punches and go home! Checked for fall mushrooms on my way home at one spot - none yet!

Warm morning for fishing at Wildwood. Winds were light from the southwest - I like some chop on the water. Picked up a handful of Bluegill and a fair Crappie on 1/16 oz. jigs and leeches and Canadian night crawlers. Highlight was 2 big C. Catfish (10-12# range) on the light line and ultralight rods, fun to catch! REGULATION: Total catch and release on the catfish at Wildwood. Saying this to those that don’t read the signs or look at the fishing regulations and are keeping them. The reason they get that big in Wildwood is because of the good folks that abide by the regulation - enough said!
