Cool early morning for fishing at Branched Oak, started out good I thought with trolling in marina bay but I know think it was a “fluke” catching a 8-10# C. Catfish in the first 400 yds of trolling in 12’ of water on a Flicker Minnow. Why because, another hour of trolling produced zippo! Winds were light from the east southeast, bad. I like some chop on the water. Picked up one 8” crappie on 1/16 oz. jig tipped with a minnow near the dam in 8’ of depth, slow. Highlight was anchored up and I caught 3 “fiddler”, C. Catfish and 2 small LMB on jigs and leeches on the light line and ultralight rods, fan casting-jigging back and watching one rod with a slip bobber-minnow in 6’ of depth! Good news the boat still runs good at trolling speeds! Four hours of slow was enough and the crazy’s are starting to overload the boat ramp, time to take my punches and go home!
Good pix of the cloudy skies and calm on the water this AM, a poor pix of big C Cat, hard to hold a flopping fish and take a good phone pix too!
